Momstown Winnipeg & a Giveaway

Ever since I took on the 'Mom' role over nine years ago, something changed. I was among the first of my friends to have babies and it wasn't beneficial to call them up in the middle of the night asking them random questions they didn't know answers to!

Welcome technology. Google was great for some of those answers, but not quite good enough. I eventually found a great online community of moms who had babies around the same age and a bond formed. I am still great friends with some of those local ladies today! It's unfortunate that the community we were in, was just not the same anymore and when I was pregnant with babyK, I knew I needed to find something that could be comparable [or better!].

Somehow in the random twitterverse I stumbled upon Ester from Momstown. She was just getting started and planning to launch a Winnipeg chapter of Momstown this past summer. I was intrigued! An online forum to chat and talk about everything on the mind of moms, playdates to get us out of the house and PARTIES. There are also great benefits of exclusive member privileges and discounts!

Now when I speak of parties - Momstown does it right! We took the whole family to the Momstown Birthday Bash at the Children's Museum in August. There were arts and crafts, photos by a professional photographer, food, Tim Horton's coffee, goodie/swag bags and tonnes of prizes. Can't forget the music, facepainting, balloons, clowns and cupcakes! I'm sure I'm missing something from that day but my kids loved it. Except boy3 not wanting his photo taken with the other boys, but that's okay! We got a family pic instead :)

Today I didn't bother doing my hair. Pony tail it went. Thank you Lord for blessing me with long hair to do so... Today I drank one cup of coffee, meaning to have two or perhaps empty the pot... Today I wasted time away... Today I had good intentions to do MORE... but didn't. Tomorrow is another day. And so I will be sure to get to sleep right away so that day can start... I will be praying and you know who you are.

i prefer green tractors [just born that way and in my blood] but this blue one caught my eye since it is my favorite color. i have an appreciation for all those farmer's widows who barely see their husbands at harvest...

hockey is in our blood too. we are canadian after all... it has begun. monday was the first day our boys got to see boy1 on ice. boy2 didn't take his eyes off the ice for that entire hour. like usual.

ellen had a guest on her show that intro'd us to 'creepin' it hilarious when someone tries to sneak in a photo without you knowing. it's even funnier when you just realize before you click like this iphone photo...

fall colours are so gorgeous.

one day i hope to have a red barn.

baby wearing snuggles are so awesome. i wore this guy for my wii fit workout. the added 12 pounds made me sweat just a tad more. now to shed more of my baby pounds...
