Insta

Insta - Sunday?!? Sure. Usually it would be Insta-Friday but I tend to do things in my own time frame [once in a while!]...

 driveway work - it's a family thing...
boy3's toe. all day he would tell me 'toe come out!'
but refused to take the sock off.
the deck we now enjoy [since we have no grass!]
ma & boy3 - he took this one.
outdoor praise and worship on fair weekend,
sunday was a gorgeous day for it!
[do you see the long strings of confetti in the trees?
and my fave - the Canadian flag!]
my niece Kezia & I on fair weekend...
Kez & boy2 on the ferris wheel!
boy2 wanted to go on this ride SO bad - every time he tried explaining it or saw it he would wave his arm in a circle and say 'the thing that goes around and round and round like this!'
 cake-ology cakettes & cupcakes.
another cool thing? lil red maple leafs on the chocolate ones.
all you can eat sushi with gramma! YAY for us, NAY for boy2&3. although boy2 feasted on the yam things [bottom of plate in pic] and boy3 finished the steamed rice.
more driveway work. daddy packing it. boy3 trailing behind with his [red shovel] packer who originally started following dad, then boy1&2 decided to butt in line and play follow the leader as well...
grocery shopping. i'm thinkin this will be one of the last times we do so during the day, as i will take some evenings with baby4 to do this.
boy2&3 were quite smitten we found superhero gummy vitamins [on SALE, so maxed our limit of 2 - why not?!?]
last but most certainly not least - this is the latest taken last night of the 39 weeker baby belly and me getting this post ready for y'all :)

Wishin you all a GREAT Sunday. One week away from due date of baby4, so who knows what this week will behold?!? Any baby predictions? I am hoping [and praying!] for a June baby & to also be able to celebrate boy1's bday on Friday with fireworks as per our annual tradition! Only God knows how that will unfold...

Spring for Susannah by Catherine Richmond ~ A Review

About Spring for Susannah:

Booklist says, "Inspired by [folk] lyrics, Richmond arrives on the inspirational fiction scene with a moving debut novel. Readers will be filled with hope that Susannah will learn the true meaning of love. Highly recommended where inspiring, romantic historical fiction is in demand."

Hundreds of miles from home, Susannah faces an uncertain future as a mail-order bride on the untamed Dakota prairie.

When her parents die suddenly, and no suitors call, Susannah resigns herself to the only option available: becoming a mail-order bride. Agreeing to marry her pastor's brother, Jesse, Susannah leaves the only home she's ever known for the untamed frontier of the Dakota Territory.

Her new husband is more loving and patient with her than she believes she deserves. Still, there is also a wildness to him that mirrors the wilderness surrounding them. And Susannah finds herself constantly on edge. But Jesse's confidence in her-and his faith in God's perfect plan-slowly begin to chip away at the wall she hides behind.

When she miscarries in the brutal Dakota winter, Susannah's fledgling faith in herself and in God begins to crumble. Still, Jesse's love is unwavering. Just when it seems like winter will never end, Susannah finally sees the first tentative evidence of spring. And with it, the realization that more than the landscape has changed.

She looks to the future with a renewed heart. Yet in her wildest dreams, she couldn't predict all that awaits her.

About Catherine: Catherine Richmond was focused on her career as an occupational therapist till a special song planted a story idea in her mind. That idea would ultimately become Spring for Susannah, her first novel. She is also a founder and moderator of Nebraska Novelist critique group and lives in Nebraska with her husband.

My thoughts on Spring for Susannah:
This book is a great read! Very easy to pick up and captured my interest right away. The time period was captured perfectly. I love the characters Catherine has created and how she slowly reveals more and more about them over the course of the book! Can't wait for more from her.

Branded by Tim Sinclair ~ A Review

About Branded:

The church spends $1.5 million for every one new follower of Jesus. Apple sells 26 iPads every minute. What is it that makes Apple so exciting and Jesus so boring? What is it that compels someone to bring their iPod everywhere and their Bible nowhere? In a word: marketing. Jesus is a life-changing product with lousy salespeople-people who are intimidated and embarrassed by the word "evangelism" and who show more enthusiasm for their gadgets than their God.

What would life look like if we stopped mass-marketing Jesus and started marketing our faith like Nike and Apple market their products--sharing relationally, from person to person? Using examples from these and other successful companies, author Tim Sinclair challenges Christians to throw out their casual attitudes toward faith and sign on for a marketing campaign for the Savior.

Written with the wit and wisdom of an experienced marketer, Branded peels away the feelings of fear and encourages readers how to share their faith in ways that are honest, authentic, and, most importantly, effective.

About the Tim Sinclair:

Tim Sinclair is a radio personality on one of the top Christian morning shows in the country, Mornings with Tim and Pam. For over a decade, he has been helping radio stations and various other businesses creatively and effectively market themselves. His award-winning productions have been heard on more than 2,000 radio stations worldwide and recent clients include McDonald's, Word Records, Moody Press, and the country's most-listened to Christian nonprofit radio station KSBJ/Houston. Tim has written for CCM Magazine and the Huntsville Times. For more about Tim, please visit his website, http://www.tim-sinclair.com.

My thoughts on Branded:
Other testimonies about this book say "convicting at times and outright hilarious at others..." [Dave Frey] and while I agree about the convicting feeling, I never once laughed out loud although the wit level was quite high. Tim Sinclair definitely makes you double think your actions and approach to evangelism and just getting the word out there trying to 'SELL' Jesus to others who haven't already bought the stocks on Him.

When I think about my business and how to go about marketing it, comparing to Christianity as Sinclair says, Apple has got the right approach. "Getting people in the door of Christianity isn't good enough. Like Apple does so well, it's vital that Christian customers become followers. Followers become fans. And fans become marketers. That's the only way the cycle can continue..."

The way in which we market is so very vital and Sinclair offers many great points motivating me to strive to be as honest as possible, without putting on a mask and telling my true story.

This is definitely a book I would read again and want to delve deeper with a study group. It was very easy to read and I have many pages ear tagged to go and look back on important points worth remembering!

early to rise

I'm pretty sure this is what my baby is preparing me for... 4am feedings. I woke up to the sound of boy3 talking in his sleep [or having a moment of awakeness where he gets a lil chatty]. I also woke up feeling like a furnace and overheating... NOT a great way to start a Tuesday morning. So I went to the bathroom, got some water, turned the laptop on to check emails... Thank you ugly ted for following me on Twitter. I have no idea how an ugly bear will emphasize inner beauty but I am not going to follow you back. Sorry. My twitter feed is already full of random silliness that is impossible to keep up with [and thankfully I don't even try...]

Now I am HUNGRY. And not a fan of the midnight snacking but when my stomach feels like the emptiest pit in the vicinity, going back to bed like that will not go over well... Alas a small peice of homemade granola bar will have to suffice. And now I am shivering cold again and feel like retreating back to my nice.warm.bed.

Thanks God. For the reminders that this will be a daily occurrence all too soon. Perhaps morning naps will be too?

Happy Tuesday all :)
